BOTOX® injections provide a rejuvenating reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, and crows’ feet. We can also use it to more effectively treat temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Dr. Timothy Kelly can provide you with a detailed overview of the many benefits of BOTOX® during a one-on-one consultation.

About BOTOX®

Young woman with wrinkle-free skin

BOTOX® is the most widely used injectable treatment in the United States. It provides patients with a temporary reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, and crows’ feet. The solution is derived from safe, effective botulinum toxin protein, which Dr. Kelly injects with a very thin needle. BOTOX® works by relaxing the muscles in designated treatment areas, resulting in a reduction of the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the face that also prevents future wrinkles from developing.

Aesthetic Benefits

BOTOX® is one of the safest and most effective ways to reduce signs of aging. You can enjoy a more youthful appearance, with smoother and more toned skin. BOTOX® injections can reduce lines and wrinkles around the mouth, between the eyebrows, in the forehead, and around the eyes. By reducing lines and wrinkles, you can dramatically improve your overall appearance. Your skin can look rejuvenated, and you will appear years younger.

Quick, Convenient Treatment

BOTOX® is a quick and nearly painless procedure that Dr. Kelly can perform the treatment in less than 15 minutes. There is no downtime or recovery period required, so you can get back to your normal day-to-day activities immediately following treatment. BOTOX® injections are the best noninvasive treatment for reducing that signs of aging without the need for painful surgery or lengthy recovery periods. In less than a week, your results can become fully visible, and the effects can last from three to four months.

TMJ Benefits

BOTOX® can also be used to treat patients with TMJ disorder. Your TMJ is the jaw joint on either side of your face, just in front of your ears, which connects your lower jaw with the temporal bones of your skull. Patients suffering from chronic jaw pain, headaches, neck pain, or other pain associated with a TMJ disorder may benefit from BOTOX® as part of their treatment plan.

Just as it relaxes the muscles to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, it can also relax the muscles around the TMJ, reducing stress and pain on the joint. While BOTOX® injections may not be fully effective as a standalone treatment for TMJ disorder, they can provide additional relief in conjunction with other treatments, such as an oral appliance.

Benefits of Combining with Other Treatments

The appearance of your teeth can make you appear prematurely aged as well. For even more dramatic results, we can combine your BOTOX® treatment with a variety of other cosmetic dental services. Dr. Kelly may recommend professional teeth whitening to remove stains and brighten your smile. For minor damage, deep-set stains, or minor misalignment, he may recommend porcelain veneers. With a straighter and whiter smile and the smoothing effects of BOTOX®, you can appear years younger in a short amount of time.
